It' no secret that advancements in technology are making our lives more convenient by the day. There are over 1.2 million apps currently on the app store assisting us with everything from delivering our groceries to finding us a date. It's an amazing time that we're living in, isn't it? What's even more amazing is that this ever growing mobile app industry is starting to produce apps to help manage the common inconvenience we know as incontinence.

Since we know how important it is to stay on top of your personal health, we've made a list of some of the apps we think are important for helping you managing your incontinence.

1. Pay Attention to Your Voiding Habits.

iP Voiding Diary and Bladder Pal 2 let you keep track of your fluid intake and urine output, two critical measurements that are frequently used by incontinence doctors to measure your level of incontinence and track your progress with treatments. Both of these apps provide an easy interface for entertaining data and include an option for mailing a PDF report to yourself or your doctor, which can be a huge help in pinpointing any major factors that could be contributing to your bladder leakage. If you’re willing to spend .99 cents we suggest trying iP Voiding Diary (you can try it first in demo mode before purchasing). The full version of this app provides very specific data entry options like types of beverages and liquid based foods consumed, as well as separate sections to record leaks per day and pad changes per day.

2. Tone Your Pelvic Floor

Your pelvic floor muscles help you hold your urine. These muscles can be weakened from many factors throughout life including pregnancy, prostate surgery or just simply being overweight. But like any other muscle, to make it stronger it must be exercised. That's where kegels come in. It's one of the oldest incontinence treatments in the books because it's simple and efficient. Plus these apps make it fun and give you guided exercises with reminders throughout the day to do them. Kegel Trainer and KegelTunes are a few of our favorites.

3. Be Prepared

There's nothing worse then saying no to an activity because you're afraid of the unexpected void. BathroomMap and SitOrSquat were designed to help with this specific problem. Both apps help users find the nearest public restroom, no matter where you are. They even use fun colors and faces to indicate the toilets cleanliness! Say goodbye to anxiety caused by the unknown.
